The grand opening of Stillmeadow Country Club at 1 Stillmeadow Drive, Cincinnati 45245 (Pierce Township) took place on April 19, 2012. The ribbon cutting took place on the first tee of the golf course with remarks being made by Stillmeadow CC President, Jeff Mazzaro along with Clermont County Commissioner Bob Proud and Chairman of the board of the Pierce Township Trustees Chris Knoop.
Mazzaro, Proud and Knoop stood by with partners Dave Copelin, Bob Yeager, Lance Atkins and Brandon Atkins as longtime members Paul Lubbe (1970), Dennis Dixon (1975), Pat Lower (1976) and Earl Edwards (1976) had the honor of cutting the ribbon. Mr. Edwards then had the ultimate honor of hitting the first tee shot over the water in front of all of those that turned out. The 84 year old smashed his tee shot that carried over the water and right into the fairway!
Founded in 1963 the Pierce Township landmark had been bank owned for the past two years but on December 20th 2011 the local group finalized a deal that would return the club to its members. The club opened in 1963 as Stillmeadow CC and was later changed to Royal Oak CC. In an effort to start fresh, the original name has been revived. Over the past four months dramatic changes and improvements have been made and the membership has already grown by 110.
The club is offering several membership options including full golf membership, social membership that includes the full service restaurant, swimming pool and all of the clubs social activities or a seasonal pool only membership.
Additionally, the ownership announced the new and innovative membership program “Adopt a Veteran”. This bold new category is the first of its kind in the area and it’s a way for the club to give back to the community and armed services. A full member at the club can adopt an active duty or recently discharged veteran and they receive all of the same benefits as the adopting family for free.
